Singapore fined a smoker for SGD19,800 (around USD15,000) after being caught by surveillance camera, throwing cigarette butts out of his flat window.
The man was fined SGD600 for the first 33 cigarette butts he has thrown.
According to National Environment Agency, that is the highest fine for a minor crime ever paid.
Singaporean is known as the cleanest country in the world, by banning chewing gum, also punishing minor crimes like littering and vandalism.
