Skype is a proprietary voice-over-Internet Protocol service and software application originally created by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis in 2003, and owned by Microsoft since 2011.
As Skype is owned by Microsoft which also the owner of Windows, we have not to worry any suitability of Skype to Windows.
But as somebody complains that Skype always run when the computer is just turned on and slower your startup process, you can disable its auto-run. You have to click 'Start' (located at bottom-left of your screen) and type 'msconfig' at the search box and hit Enter. Then the Microsoft Configuration window will open, and switch the tab to Startup and unmark Skype. So then Skype will not run automatically when you just turn on your computer.
