The first step, open "My Computer", then go into the directory "C:\Windows" or "C:\WINNT", and create a new folder "DRIVESICONS" and folder "Drives". Then put all the icons (in the form of images that you can make with a graphics program like Paint, etc.), which later you will use in the folder "DRIVESICONS". After that moving to folder "Drives" and click the menu "File | New | Shortcut." In the window "Create Shortcut", click "Browse" button and select the destination drive. You can also directly type in commands, eg "D:\ '. After that click "Next" button and then enter the desired shortcut name. The name should begin with alphabetic drive is concerned, so that the symbols appear with the correct sequence. Then click the "Finish". After that it was right-click the newly created shortcut, and select "Properties". In the window that appears, click the "Change Icon" to change his icon symbol. Look for the symbol of the drive that you want from the folder "DRIVEICONS" and click "OK". Perform the same steps for other drives.
Now point your mouse to the taskbar and right click on a blank area of the taskbar, and select menu "Toolbars | New Toolbar." In the window that appears, choose the folder "Drives" which was made earlier, then click "OK". After that, the symbol appears on the taskbar shortcut hard disk drive that you created earlier. Next right click the words "Drives" and deactivate the option "Show Text" and "Show Title".
Now you have to have a symbol of hard disk drives, which can be accessed very quickly. The advantage with this approach is more easily done and requires no changes to the Windows registry.
