To change to Classic view, you must make changes or additions to the registry.
Go to the registry editor (regedit) through "Start | Run" and enter "regedit" (without quotes) in the Open menu, then in the windows registry editor go to the key "
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer".
In these key create a DWORD value by right clicking and select "DWORD value". Give the name of the DWORD value as "ClassicShell". Next right click on the data and then select "Modify." Enter the value "1" in the "Value data" and click "OK" as the last step. Now restart your PC and see the changes that occur on your desktop.
