On you facebook homepage under your profile picture there should be a list of things you can do. The first will be news feed, the second is messages. Click on messages, it will take you to another page. On this page on the top right side there will be a light blue box with a + new message. Click on that and a message box will come up and start typing in the name of the person you want to type the message to and go from there.
