Facebook won in court against king of spam named Sanford Wallace. Site that owned by Mark Zuckerberg also received considerable compensation, as much as US$711 million.
Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California said Wallace's fault to marketing advertiving via e-mail spamming which it is not true to do. He spread the message that annoying Facebook users.
Facebook welcomes the decision that potentially makes this discourage other spammers. The legitimate of Facebook, Sam O'Rourke said that it was an important victory in a fight againts spammer.
Reported by Cnet, Facebook sued Sanford in February. He is accused of using a phishing site to lure Facebook users and access their accounts, in order to distribute spam.
Sanford called the king of spam as a principal distribution snapper class junk messages. Company called Cyber Promotions had sent up to 30 million spam e-mails per day. He repeatedly dealing with the law because of it.
Although comparatively exorbitant, the number of penalties for cases of this spam is not the largest for Facebook. Because before, they also have won the case against the spam suspect Adam Guerbez a year ago, with a fine of US$873 million.
