Set Blogger with Your Own Domain

Time after time blogging, you need to be more 'special' looks from your blog, by set your own domain (e.g. vektanova.com), buy domain is cheap but you will not have DNS to save where your domain and blog are linked to. Forget about it and see the tutorial below.

You have a domain and you need to set DNS first before do the further steps. I recommend you to use free DNS Hosting from www.dnspark.net.

Now sign up on DNSPark, in home page, click 'DNS Hosting' and type your domain there (e.g. vektanova.com, freesoul.net, etc). See the picture to know where the 'DNS Hosting' link located.

You will see a table and there are 5 Name Server from DNS Park that you need to tell to registrar or the administrator of your domain seller (where you got the domain) to point your domain Name Server to ns1.dnspark.net, ns2.dnspark.net, ns3.dnspark.net, ns4.dnspark.net, and ns5.dnspark.net.

Now, at the bottom of the table, you can see an 'Add Records' radio, you need to add CNAME, with www as the Alias Name, and ghs.google.com as the Destination Host.

Please note that DNSPark doesn't guarantee the service because you are currently using free service, but you don't need to worry about this.

Next, go to your Blogger Dashboard, and go to Blog Settings. Switch the tab to 'Publishing'. There you will see your .blogspot.com domain. Look at the top section, there is a link named 'Custom Domain' and there you go. In the domain configuration, click 'Switch to advanced Settings'.
Type your domain on there, don't forget to fill www just before your domain name (e.g. www.vektanova.com). Save it and wait until the next page appears, now refresh until you see 'Redirect yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com', give mark on that radio and save again. You need to wait up to 24 - 48 hours to get the effect, sometimes it can be faster to 2 hours, depends on your Domain Registrar.





Don't worry about your visitor, if someone visit www.yourdomain.blogspot.com, it will be automatically redirected to www.yourdomain.com.
